We then got approached by a young man selling us little bags of “biscochos”. He started going through the sales script. He was on drugs, in a bad place, but now, he is in a rehab center trying to do better in life. He then said if we will buy from him; he sells to support himself. We told him no and started asking him questions. He shared that he used to be a preacher in a nearby town. He then proceeded to preach to us and he sounded spot on. Carson another member of our team sensed something and told me to ask him if you need a prayer and what specifically can we pray for. Brian shared that he hears voices in his head that tell him to hurt others. He then showed us his back which was full of lacerations and large stab wounds. We all laid hands on him and started to pray powerfully in Spanish, English and in our holy language. Within seconds, Brian started to cry and his body was almost convulsing uncontrollably. We were praying that the demon that was torturing him leaves him in the name of Jesus and praying he forgives all those who have hurt him physically and emotionally. I don’t know if God answered our prayers, we hugged him goodbye headed towards the Catholic Church.

Jesus’s Ministry

A statistical analysis of Jesus’ time on earth reveals that casting out demons was a major pillar of His work, ranking third among all His activities.

The following breakdown shows where Jesus spent His time:

  • Teaching – The primary focus of His ministry.
  • Healing the Sick – His second most common action.
  • Casting Out Demons
  • Brought Salvation
  • Raised from the Dead

Is the Deliverance Ministry Relevant in 2025?

Jesus did not intend for the work of deliverance to end with Him; He explicitly transferred His authority to drive out demons to us. It began in Matthew 10:1 when He commanded the disciples to drive out demons. But He expanded this scope in Mark 16:17 and John 14:12, promising that all who believe would possess this same power to cast out spirits in His name. Luke 10:19 confirms the extent of this gift, authority over all the power of the enemy. As we see in Acts 16:18, the early church used this power after Jesus ascended, proving that casting out demons is a current, active assignment for the believer.

A statistical analysis of the church of Acts reveals that casting out of demons was still occurring after Jesus’ ministry on earth ended.

Nature of the Demonic Realm

  • 1. The Leader: Satan
    • John 12:31: He is the ruler of this world
    • John 8:44: He is a deceiver and the father of lies
    • Ephesians 2:2: He operates in the spiritual atmosphere (“the air”)
  • 2. The Hierarchy: An Organized Structure
    • Ephesians 6:12
      • Rulers: High-level commanders.
      • Authorities: Those with the right to carry out orders.
      • Powers of this dark world: Forces operating globally or over specific regions.
      • Spiritual forces of evil: Lower-level entities carrying out specific tasks.
  • 3. The Subjects: Demons (Fallen Angels)
    • Revelation 12:3-4: Their origin (The Rebellion).
    • James 2:19: They acknowledge God’s power (and fear Him).
    • Mark 5:12: They can inhabit people or animals.

Can a Christian Have a Demon?

The Bible says you are made of three parts (1 Thessalonians 5:23).

1. The BODY 2. The SOUL 3. The SPIRIT

If you are a Christian, imagine you are a castle. Here is where the enemy can (and cannot) mess with you.

The Body (The Walls) → VULNERABLE

  • Can the enemy attack here? YES.
  • How: Sickness, pain, or physical exhaustion.
  • Paul had a “thorn in the flesh” sent to torment him.

The Soul (The Courtyard) → VULNERABLE

  • Can the enemy attack here? YES.
  • How: Fear, anxiety, bad thoughts, and confusion.
  • The enemy shoots “flaming arrows” of lies into your mind.

The Spirit (The King’s Room) → OFF LIMITS

  • Can the enemy attack here? NO.
  • Why: If you are a believer, the Holy Spirit lives here.
  • Ephesians 1:13: Darkness cannot enter a room filled with Light. You are sealed by God.
